We were going to put ESH in swimming lessons this summer when we got back from our cruise.We took her snorkeling with us and she had a blast but wore her arm swimmies 2 of the 3 times we went.Before the cruise we went to a friends pool party and the have a diving board and she was jumping off and kicking to the top of the water with no swimmies on.
We thought it would be best to ditch them and get on with being a big girl.
I called the Saturday before they started a new session and they told me I had to put her in level 1.I didn't see why because she doesn't need to learn the basics.She just needed arm help.They were full and we would have to wait till July.Well summer is almost over by then so I said no thank you I'll keep my $ and we can teach her ourselves.
So this past Saturday *June 20th* we bought tickets to the Aquatic Center.And ESH was swimming on her own in the 2 hours we were there.No swimmies were even taken to the pool with us.Just sunblock for B and towels and off we went.She was jumping off the 5ft end and kicking up..then started holding her breath and swimming fully underwater and hasn't stopped since.We have gone everyday and she is like a little water bug.She doesn't like the baby bucket side.Only the big pool and the lazy river.She is working towards some Princess dive toys.She is the best cannonballer I have ever seen...and she dives to the bottom of the pool!! I can't be more pleased with my glow in the dark butt little water bug!
I am going to take the camera with me this weekend when we go so I can get some pics of her swimming all alone!
Swimming lessons..who needs stinking swimming lessons! I knew she was meant to be a waterbaby!!
